V. TOURNAMENT/LEAGUE UPDATE, Bill reporting

    1. Golden Oldies Seniors Tournament in North Glynn (October) We would make a $2500 profit with 100 players, ages 50+, The Ribs Man at Harris Teeter can do dinner for about $20/pp for dinner on Friday night. In speaking with Paul, Bill said a print-ready t-shirt design is needed. Murray ask Tavel to have a logo print-ready for the t-shirt.  We need to let folks know that the t-shirt run large.  Motion, made by Bill, to give the North Glynn group 100% of North Glynn generated sponsor fees (minus expenses) and 50% of the total entry fees (minus expenses). Seconded by Karen. Discussions and then unanimous vote to accept the motion.

    2. November North Glynn Tournament—Theresa & Joe Peeples, in discussions with Murray and Bill, expressed their idea of wanting to have a November Tournament benefitting a local Parkinson’s group with SSIP supporting them.

    3. Fall League—Discussions on whether we have a fall league or take a break. We are leaning toward taking a break.  The number of participants was down in the spring league.

VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS

Overall discussion of the Board wanting the committees to take over their events so the Board doesn’t need to be so heavily involved in all of the activities.

    1. Competition Committee—will meet in July

    2. Social Committee—Summer Beach Party was a great hit about 50+ attended overall.  Will probably go back to 5-6th street area.  Was a long way to haul all the supplies, etc., at Massengale Beach.

    3. Social Media/Publicity Committee—July newsletter in the works. Susan & Mary are working on interviewing visitors for the newsletter.

VII. OTHER MATTERS

    1. Shade Project—Lisa is starting on getting bids for shade at the Mallery St pickleball courts.

    2. John Gentry—Murray is planning on speaking with him more in July.  Hoping to have a good discussion.  If not will need to start addressing it with the County Commissioners.

    3. Do we want to start promoting tournaments that we aren’t affiliated with? Discussion ensued.  Motion, made by Mary, We are not going to promote another local tournament unless it is benefitting a local nonprofit with local organizers. Seconded by Suzi.
